Born in a small subtropical island of Yoron, near Okinawa, Japan. He moved to the States in 1978 and went to a community college in Stockton, CA, where he found his vocation as being an artist thanks to his great mentor and teacher who dedicated his life in education. Later he earned B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. His art explores the process of life cycles in a microscopic view. His sensitive lines and seeds like forms are his vehicles to journey into the mist of seas where all forgotten memories are fermented. His playful approach to drawing evokes innocent time and yet complex view of the universe. Currently he teaches drawing at the Front Range Community College and painting at the Metropolitan State College in Colorado.
